Jeffrey Alan Atwood

Jeffrey Atwood, age 60, of Syracuse, passed away after a brief illness on July 27, 2026 at Goshen Hospital. He was born on February 17, 1966 to James "Jim" and Martha (Weisenfluh) Atwood in Indianapolis.

He was a graduate of Wawasee High School, Class of 1984 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in education from Ball State University. He met is wife Melissa while in college.

Jeff had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his free time golfing, hiking, and boating on Syracuse Lake. He also loved listening to music and cheering on his favorite teams. A devoted sports fan, Jeff proudly supported the Indiana Hoosiers and the Indianapolis Colts. He was a coach to baseball and basketball youth programs. He was also a high school basketball coach for a time.

Jeff was such a kind, warm heart soul. He made everyone feel like they were his best friend. He worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for 34 years and was dedicated to his clients and become friends with them.

Jeffrey's legacy is most profoundly embodied in his family. His three kids were his pride and joy and most valued accomplishment. He is survived by his devoted wife, Melissa Atwood along with his children-Tristen, Reagan, and Rileigh Atwood. He is also survived by his siblings, Brent (Tricia) Atwood, Darin (Michelle) Atwood, Jill (Matt) Stahl and Josh (Ashley) Atwood. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Jeff's Life Celebration Visitation will take place on August 4, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at North Webster Community Church, 302 N Main St, North Webster, Indiana. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will follow to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 2524 E Bowser Road, Milford, Indiana. Arrangements are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1001. South Huntington Street, Syracuse, IN 46567.
