Born on March 28, 1949, in Warsaw, IN, she was the daughter of Keith and Stella (English) Phillips. Jean’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. A proud homemaker, Jean dedicated her life to nurturing her loved ones and creating a warm and welcoming home. She was a 1967 graduate of Pierceton High School, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with community involvement and cherished memories. Jean was not just a homemaker; she was the heart of her family, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Her vibrant personality shone through in her hobbies and interests. A former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Jean enjoyed connecting with others and making a difference in her community. She was a proud mother to two sons, Lawrence (Melissa) Fugate and Robert (Sonja) Fugate, and a doting grandmother to four grandchildren and a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her heart. She further is survived by her dear brother, Jack (Kate) Phillips, and her longtime friend, Claudia Barton, who have been invaluable sources of support and companionship throughout her life. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her cherished daughter Mandy Idena Fugate, granddaughter Brittanie Fugate, great grandson Ryker Jay Newman, and sister Judy Metzger.
