Jay E. Goshert, 36, of Milford, IN passed away at 12:50 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. He was born on March 5, 1974 in Goshen, IN to Kenneth E. & Jill K. (Berlin) Goshert.
He was a lifetime Milford area resident. He g raduated in 1992 from Wawasee High School, 2006 from Indiana University in South Bend with his BA degree and in 2009 from Indiana Institute of Technology with an Associates Degree in Computer Science. He was a teacher for Marshall Intermediate Center School in South Bend for the past 4 years and was formerly employed at Smoker Craft in New Paris.
He formerly attended the Bethany Church of the Brethren in New Paris, was the founder of the Indiana Waverunners Softball Team in Syracuse, served on the Little League Board in Milford for 15 years, and formerly served as the assistant coach for the Wawasee Girls Varsity Softball Team.
He is survived by:

Brother – Mark (wife, Penny) Goshert of Evansville & Brian Goshert of Milford
Sister – Karen Meade of Goshen
2 nieces & 2 nephews – Haley Goshert, Brittany Goshert, Ryan Meade, & Tyler Goshert
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Lawson, former minister of the Bethany Church of the Brethren & Rev. Tim Sollenberger-Morphew of the church officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Oakwood Cemetery, 421 N. Maple Ave, Warsaw, IN.

Memorial bequests may be given to the Indiana Waverunners Softball Team, c/o Brent Bardo, 57136 Coppergate Dr., Elkhart, IN 46516. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
