Janet C. Carr

Janet C. Carr, 102, of Warsaw, IN (formerly of Logansport, IN) passed away at 9:37 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at her daughter’s home. She was born on April 10, 1918 in Logansport, IN to Homer & Alpharetta (Hilton) Closson.

She graduated in 1935 from Logansport High School and received a library technical certificate. She was married on November 5, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN to Dick Carr who preceded her on May 2005. She worked at the Logansport Public Library 50+ years as a cataloger and lived her life in Logansport until she moved to Warsaw on February 1, 2019.

She was the oldest member of Baptist Temple in Logansport and member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Virginia B. (Terry) Sims of Warsaw

Son – Richard (Kandy) Carr of LaPorte

3 Grand, 7 Gt. Grand, and 8 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers.

No public services will be held. Private burial will take place in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport, IN. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
