Ivan Richard "Dick" Workman

Ivan Richard “Dick” Workman, 93, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, IN. He was born on July 24, 1928 in Syracuse, IN to Chester O. & Ruby Eleanor (Moats) Workman.

He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1946 from Syracuse High School. He was married on September 21, 1946 in Syracuse, IN to Donna Lee Galloway who survives. He retired as a groundskeeper for Wawasee High School after 20 years and was a farmer for 50+ years. He formerly worked at Syracuse Rubber Company, Commodore Homes in Syracuse, Orlie Brown Farms, and was a bus driver for Syracuse & Wawasee Schools for 30 years.

He was a member of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel and the Hex Grange both in Syracuse.

He is survived by:

Wife – Donna Workman of Syracuse

2 Sons – Mark (Kathy) Workman of Warsaw and David (Julia) Workman of Syracuse

10 Grand & 9 Gt. Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, son – Richard Lee Workman,  sister – Bonnie Workman, 2 brothers – Max and Robert (infant) Workman, and step grandson – Kirk Voorheis.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. No services will be held. Private family burial will be in the McClintic Cemetery at a later date.

Preferred memorial may be given to the donor’s choice.
