Irene Mast-Schrock

Born Irma Mast, she was known to everyone as Irene or Littlebit. She was born on October 29, 1949 to Moses Mast and Goldie Fern (Miller) Mast in Goshen, Indiana. She passed away on August 4, 2025, in Arlington, Texas at the age of 75; she was visiting with two of her children, Teresa Atwell and Neil Schrock at the time of her passing. While in Texas she was attending Church on Rush Creek.

Irene attended Millersburg Schools and spent her formative years in Goshen. She spent many years in the Syracuse area and, more recently, moved in with her son, Timothy (Darlene) in Elkhart.

She is remembered as a hardworking individual, whose career included contributions at Premier in Syracuse, CTS in Milford, and the Marshall Group in North Carolina.

Her vibrant personality shone through in every aspect of her life; she was known for her spicy spirit paired with a heart of gold. Irene cherished her faith and had a deep love for the Lord, attending New Salem Church of the Brethren in Milford for many years.

Irene is survived by her daughter: Teresa ”Terri” Atwell Burchett and James Burchett of Arlington; Texas; sons: Timothy and Darlene Schrock of Elkhart and Neil and Rebecca Schrock of Fort Worth, Texas. She also leaves behind; nine grandchildren: Chelsea Young, Ashlyn Atwell, Brandon Atwell, Jasmine Burchett, Shelby Schrock, Trevor Schrock, Vanessa Gonzales, Quillian Schrock and Cody Schrock - all of Texas and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin Mast of Florida and a sister, of Evelyn Terell of Texas - all of whom will remember her fondly.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronnie Schrock; Six brothers, Six Sisters and a daughter-law, Nancy Schrock. Her impact on those who knew her will not be forgotten, and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Titus Funeral Homes are entrusted with care of Irene. Visitation will be held at Titus Funeral Homes, Syracuse located at 1001 South Huntington Street. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 9, 2025 beginning at 10 a.m. At Noon, her Son, Neil will officiate her Life Celebration Funeral® Burial will follow at Syracuse Cemetery.
