George "Taylor" Seward, age 79, of Winona Lake, passed away surrounded by his family on June 21, 2025. Taylor was born on November 7, 1945, in Everett, Washington, to George and Eva Seward. He later married Ann Goshert on April 18, 1992, at Manchester College.
A graduate of Culver Naval Academy in 1962, Taylor pursued further education at Manchester College, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He dedicated a significant part of his professional life to the field of orthopedics, serving as the vice-president of personnel at Depuy Orthopedics before retiring in 2000. His contributions to the community extended beyond his career, as he actively participated in several local non-profit boards, including a notable 20-year tenure with the M.S.G.A. He was also proud to be a member of the Masonic Lodge and served as president of the North Manchester Chamber of Commerce. Taylor's passion for his community was evident in his involvement with the Kosciusko County Gun Club. He and his wife were also devoted members of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw.
Those who knew Taylor will remember him as a kind and caring individual who valued friendship. He cultivated deep connections, nurturing relationships with family and community alike. He was an avid golfer and had a profound love for the game, often enjoying time on the golf course. Winters in Florida provided him with joy and relaxation, creating lasting memories with loved ones at North Hutchinson Island. Renowned for his playful spirit, Taylor delighted in performing magic tricks for his grandchildren, and he shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Sadie.
Taylor is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Seward of Winona Lake; his children, Taylor Seward II of North Manchester, Sage Casper of North Manchester, Brody (Katie) Shively of Plymouth, and Cale (Cindy) Shively of Noblesville; and his grandchildren, Ali, Emma, Cameron, Spencer, Ben, Chase, and Vivian, along with two great-granddaughters; siblings,, Dr. Steven (Joyce) Seward of Fort Wayne and Cynthia Priser of Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tanner Seward, his sister, Sandra Murray, and his parents.
A Life Celebration Visitation will be held at Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, IN 46580 on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Titus Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Burial will follow to Oakwood Cemetery.
