George Schisler

George "Ray" Schisler, 79, of Cromwell died at 3:47 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2009 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born July 28, 1929 in Muncie, IN to George Washington & Ruth Schisler.
He was raised in Muncie and attended Muncie Public Schools. He was married on September 8, 1950 to Edra Arlene Ridenbach who preceded him in death on July 24, 2003. He moved to the Cromwell area about 40 years ago from Muncie and retired from Venture Welding in Elkhart as a truck driver after 10 years of service. He was a member of the Indian Village United Methodist Church and was an avid New Paris Speedway racecar fan.
He is survived by:
3 Daughters - Nancy K, Schisler of Cromwell, Vickie J. Schisler of Glenwood, CA & Mrs. Darrell (Linda J.) Smith of Glenwood, CA;
1 Son - Bob R. (wife, Debbie) Schisler of Syracuse;
6 Grand & 8 Gt. Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son - Ricky Schisler in 1956, daughter - Ranelle Owen in 1976, & Half Brother - George Clifton Bailey.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Ginder of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Village Cemetery.
