George Joseph Adamaitis

George Joseph Adamaitis passed away on April 5, 2024 at the age of 90.  George was born on September 12, 1933 in Chicago, IL to the late George and Virginia (Nesta) Adamaitis. 

George grew up in the Chicagoland area where he met his late wife Shirley (Perion) Adamaitis.  They were married on November 1, 1952, and began a family.  A loyal of employee of Commonwealth Edison, George spent most of his career working his way up the ranks retiring as an established executive within the company.

George spent his retired years in Florida with family and friends.  He was a loving grandfather who enjoyed taking his grandchildren to Disney World, hunting for shark’s teeth on the beach, and sitting poolside in the sunshine.  

George is survived by his grandchildren, George (Renee) Adamaitis and Ashley (Tony) Lizzi; great-granddaughter, Lia Adamaitis; daughter-in-law, Alena Adamaitis; and brother, Vince (Phyllis) Adamaitis.

He was preceded in death by his sons, George and Michael Adamaitis; and sister Carol Adamaitis.  

Arrangements were entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Syracuse 1001 S. Huntington Street. A private memorial service will be held held for immediate family with burial following at Syracuse Cemetery.
