Geary Buchanan, age 76, born September 7th, 1949, quietly passed away surrounded by family on January 11th, 2026.

Geary was born in Altoona, PA, and later moved to Hollidaysburg with his parents, Barbara and Calvin Buchanan, and his brothers Douglas and Ronald. He graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in ‘67 and later attended Lancaster Bible College, where he met his future wife, Trudy Miller. They were married in May of 1970.

The following year he enlisted in the US Navy, serving 4 years and honorably discharged in 1975, but not before the arrival of his son Jonathan and daughter Amy.

With his new family, Geary moved back to Blair County and began working as the Assistant Administrator at the Blair Christian Home. After a decade at the nursing home and several other careers, Geary returned to healthcare and worked as a Caregiver at The Learning Community until he finally retired at age 73.

Geary was a character, to say the least. He had a sharp wit and a dark sense of humor. In his free time, he loved to sing. He and Trudy sang at church often. He was a choir member at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church where he later joined the Grace Quartet. Geary also loved to ride motorcycles, often with the same folks he sang with.

Geary was a Caring Son, a Faithful Husband, a Loving Father and a Great Friend.

Preceding him in death are his parents, grandson Tyler Lea, and great-grandchild Haven Ashenfelter, all of whom remain in the hearts of those he cherished.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Trudy Buchanan, and his cherished children, Jonathan (Emily Aldana) Buchanan and Amy (James) Lea. Geary was a proud grandfather to Natasha, Jenna (Mitchell) Ashenfelter, Tomas, and Makayla, and his legacy will also be remembered by his brothers, Rev. Douglas (Tina) Buchanan and Ronald (Carol) Buchanan.

A visitation will be held on January 17, 2026, from 2:00-3:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:30 PM, both at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana. Geary will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
