Gary Lee Richard, age 61, of Warsaw, Indiana, a cherished husband, father, brother, pastor, counselor, and friend, went home to the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 8, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on September 20, 1964 in Wooster, Ohio to Paul and Joanne (Begly) Richard. He married Ann McCrum on May 27, 1989 in New Troy, Michigan, and they shared 37 years together.
Gary loved Jesus. An elder at Harrison Center Church, Gary exemplified steadfast faith and service. His faith was not merely a belief but a profound lifestyle, lived out openly and fearlessly- inspiring those around him. He was active in missions internationally and locally, always looking for reasons to serve his Lord, his family, and his friends.
Gary cherished joy and connection. He was a dedicated Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed playing all kinds of games, sharing these moments with friends and family. His love for people and commitment to missions underscored his life’s purpose and legacy. Gary had a passion for softball that extended beyond the playing field. He played, coached, mentored, and served on the board of the Kosciusko County Church Softball League.
Gary worked at Cardinal Center and Unique Siding before starting his own company, G&R Siding. Beyond his work, he was deeply involved in various community activities that demonstrated his generous heart and unwavering faith. He worked with Habitat for Humanity and was the co-founder of Mission 2 Mentone, through which he extended his love and service to all.
Family was at the core of Gary’s being. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Richard of Warsaw; his children Tim (Kaitlyn) Richard of Warsaw, Jo (Aaron) Schmidt of North Webster, Katie (Nick) Myers of Nappanee, and Caleb (Sky) Richard of Warsaw. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and many honorary children and grandchildren, a testament to the loving impact he made on the young lives around him. Additionally, Gary is survived by his siblings David (Irene) Richard of Wooster, Ohio; Janice (Stan) Amstutz of Wooster, Ohio; and Susan (John) Brubaker of Plymouth, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Joanne (Begly) Richard, as well as his brother, Paul Dean Richard.
Gary’s life was a beacon of faith, family, and service. He was known for his love of family and his strong faith that he lived out unashamedly. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 4-7pm at Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Winona Lake Grace Church, 1200 Kings Hwy, Winona Lake, Indiana 46590. Pastors Tim Richard and Alan McCrum will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made to Harrison Center Church at 965 S. 800 W. Etna Green, IN 46524.
