Frances E. “Fran” Nichols. 77, of Warsaw, IN (formerly of Muncie, IN) passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at her home. She was born on January 26, 1944 in Muncie, IN to Milo & Eva (Gillentine) Reum.
She graduated from Cowan High School in Muncie and was married on December 12, 1961, in Muncie, IN, to Thomas E. “Tom” Nichols who survives. She retired as a bookkeeper from Delaware County Highway Department, formerly worked for the Delaware County Treasurer’s Office, and the Delaware County Nursing Home. She lived most of her life in Muncie, IN, wintered in Florida for many years, and summered at Irish & Sechrist Lakes until she moved there permanently 2 years ago.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to read, spend time at the beach on Marco Island, and had a great work ethic even after retirement.
She is survived by:

Daughter – Kelli Dulaney of Muncie, IN
2 Sons – Thomas Nichols Jr. of Dayton, OH & David (Deanna) Nichols of Fishers, IN
2 Grandchildren – Matthew & Kaylee
Brother – David Reum of Muncie, IN
3 Sisters – Linda Butcher of Muncie, IN, Joella Francis of Muncie and Jane (John) Heaton of Carmel, IN
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter - Linda Julayne Nichols, brother – Wayne Reum, and 2 brothers in law – Robert Butcher & John Francis.
Private family services will be held with Pastor Allie Craycraft officiating. . Burial will take place in the Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie.
Preferred memorials may be given to the Center for Hospice, 112 S. Center St. C, Plymouth, IN 46563.
