Our forever beautiful mother Evangelia “Evalyn” (Alatza) Olvey Wiley, 96, went peacefully home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 11, 2023, at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, Indiana.
She was born March 24, 1927, to Elias and Mildred (Dilts) Alatza. Evalyn grew up in the Greek community of Anderson, Indiana, cherishing her siblings George, Elaine, and Paul Alatza. She dearly loved all of her nieces and nephews.
She married James “Jim” Olvey and together raised two daughters in Anderson. Upon Jim’s death in 1977, she made her home in Clearwater, Florida and was blessed to later meet and marry Charles ‘Bill” Wiley. After his death in 2001, she eventually settled in Warsaw to be near her daughters. She is survived by her daughters Carol (Dennis) Alberts, Warsaw and Linda Olvey, Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Aaron (Kelly) Alberts, Ashley (Chad) Pletcher, and Claire Elaine Olvey Helmen.
She deeply loved her family and friends, music, reading, writing poetry, and spending precious time with her great grandchildren, William, Caleb and Juliette Alberts and Sophia Pletcher.
Titus Funeral Home of Warsaw is entrusted with the care of Evalyn. A private burial and graveside gathering will take place at a later date at Anderson Memorial Park in Anderson, Indiana.
The family wishes to thank the Grace Village Retirement Community for their many years of compassionate care for Evalyn.
