Edith R. Hoffert, 89, of Pierceton, IN went to be with the Lord at 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday, December 08, 2009 at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Milford, IN. She was born on October 7, 1920 in Warsaw, IN to Fred M. & Margaret (Sroufe) Hoppas.

She grew up in the Sidney, IN and graduated in 1938 from Sidney High School. On October 7, 1939 in Winona Lake, IN she married Archie G. "Arch" Hoffert who preceded her on July 21, 2009. She moved to North Webster/Pierceton area in 1949, was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Oswego. She was a former member of Backwater Friends Home Economic Club in North Webster.

She is survived by:
2 Sons - Fredrick Douglas (wife, Karen) Hoffert of Leesburg & Thomas Lee (wife, Patricia) Hoffert of Pierceton;
5 Grandchildren & 13 Great Grandchildren;

She was preceded by her parents & husband.

Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday December 11, 2009 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 3065 E. Armstrong Rd., Leesburg, IN with Pastor Rick Smith of the church officiating. Burial will follow in North Webster Cemetery (Mock Addition).

Memorial bequest may be given to Calvary Baptist Church or Wawasee Camp of the Gideons International, P O Box 101, Syracuse, IN 46565. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
