Edgar “Ed” Stapleton, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully in his residence surrounded by his family on Friday August 11, 2023, at the age of 71. He was born on March 15, 1952, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to his parents Joe and Ethel Stapleton (Johnson).

Professionally, Ed worked at Miller and Sons Lumber in Silver Lake and at the sawmill in Packerton for many years before retirement. Ed married Maria Bradley on January 14, 1990. He and Maria shared many wonderful memories together for over 42 years before her passing in October of 2022. Ed and Marie moved to Heron Preserve Apartments in 2018. He took pride in having a clean and organized home. He continuously won the Good Housekeeping award each year.

With a love for the outdoors, Ed enjoyed various hobbies and interests such as fishing, hunting, trapping, and working on cars. Ed took his niece, Elizabeth, fishing when she was a little girl just as he did with her mother, Natasha. They continued fishing together for several years. He had a deep appreciation for nature and spent countless hours walking in the woods. Ed was also known for his craftmanship and enjoyed making wind chimes and other wooden crafts. He would also cut hundreds of loads of wood for himself and others. In his spare time, Ed also enjoyed antiquing and garage sales.

One of Ed's greatest joys was spending time with his pug companion, Bandit. Their bond brought him immeasurable happiness and created cherished memories.

In addition to his beloved dog, Bandit, he is survived by two daughters, Ashley Stapleton and Whitney Stapleton; two grandchildren, Arabella Louise and Waylen Raye; sister, Joanne Stapleton; niece, Natasha (James) Stapleton and her family, Brandon (Kierra) Ousley, Emelia Ousley, and Elizabeth Stapleton; sister-in-law, Nina Stapleton and her family.
