Douglas Dwyer, of Chicago and formerly of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly at Endeavor Health in Evanston, Illinois on August 21, 2024. He was born to Paul and Sondra "Sonnie" Dwyer on November 20, 1966 in Marion, IN.
He graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1985. Douglas continued his academic journey at Hanover College and Indiana University. Douglas dedicated his career as an AR Specialist at Innovative Management Solutions.
Douglas was an avid traveler, embracing the opportunity to backpack across many European countries, an experience that enriched his perspective and appreciation for different cultures. He loved to travel to the South America, wanting to retire in Ecuador. His love for reading was matched only by his passion for service; he was a devoted Catholic, actively participating in various outreach bible studies and generously serving as a missionary.
Beyond his professional and spiritual endeavors, Douglas had a creative spirit. He enjoyed watercolor painting and was skilled at several board games, particularly chess, where his strategic thinking shone brightly.
Douglas is survived by his mother, Sonnie Dwyer of Chapman Lake; his siblings, Jeff (Angie) Dwyer of Silver Lake, Greg (Becky) Dwyer of Lake, Michigan, and Lori (Ray) Horney-Marple of Chapman Lake. His memory will be cherished by several nieces and nephews, including Amber (AJ) Hicks, Tiffany Moore, Justin (Katherine) Dwyer, Heather (Tommy) Shaffer, Sara (David Sante) Dwyer, Jordan (Desiree) Horney, and Lauren (Cody) Cyr.
Douglas is preceded in death by his father, Paul “PD” Dwyer; his grandparents, Dave & Mary Dwyer and Paul & Gerri King; and his brother-in-law, Scott Horney.
Arrangements are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, IN. A Life Celebration visitation for Douglas will be held on August 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N Harrison Street, followed by a Mass with Father David Langford that will take place immediately at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at a later date and time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Scholarship Fund or Building Fund.
