Doug Shoemaker

Douglas Allen Shoemaker, age 50, of Syracuse was born on September 19, 1975 to Larry and Marilyn (Harrison) Shoemaker in Huntington, Indiana.

Douglas graduated from Northfield High School in 1994 with honors. He attended Purdue University for 1 year and then transferred to Manchester College where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Communications in 1994. Doug continued his education and received his Masters Degree in Business Finance in 2010. He was the youngest Sports Information Director selected immediately out of college with Manchester College.

Douglas was the past owner of The Frog Tavern and SS Lillypad for the last 13 years of which he devoted his life to. He just recently sold The Frog. He made many friends along the way and cherished them all. He was 2025 Commodore of Lake Wawasee. He had an incredibly dry wit, kind soul and entertained us with his many tales.

Douglas leaves behind his mother, Marilyn Davis of Syracuse; brothers, Timothy M.(Jacqueline) Shoemaker of LaGrange and James B. (Erin) Davis of Claypool; nephew Maddux Davis and niece, Savannah Beigh. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Shoemaker and step-father, Patrick Davis
