Dorothy E Howell

Dorothy Evelyn Howell, 99, Silver Lake, passed away Monday August 4, 2025 at home. She was born June 16, 1926 in Silver Lake to Walter Rodrick Meinert and Cleo Lucille (Drudge) Meinert. She graduated with the class of 1944 from Silver Lake High School and on November 11, 1948 in N. Manchester, married Harry Nelson Howell who preceded her in death July 15, 1988.

Dorothy worked at Kimball Glass/Owens Illinois for many years, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and 8&40. She was also a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Silver Lake.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Howell of Silver Lake and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sister; Vivian M (Cole) Thompson, her brothers; Walter R "Bud" Meinert and Conrad L (Charlene) Meinert and her niece Susan D (Thompson) Eherenman.

No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to any children's hospital or veteran's organization of the donor's choice.

Titus Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 2000 Sheridan St, Warsaw is entrusted with care of Dorothy. The family is grieving privately.
