Dorla Hartsaw

Dorla L. Hartsaw, 77, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 6:52 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Goshen General Hospital. She was born on July 22, 1932 in Veedersburg, IN to Ben & Ruby (Furr) Townsend.

She graduated from Veedersburg High School an on May 25, 1956 in Veedersburg she married Paul E. Hartsaw who preceded her on September 6, 1991. She grew up in Veedersburg and started coming to Syracuse as a summer resident in 1967 and moved here permanently in 1991. She was a homemaker and a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse. She loved living in Oakwood Park.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Mrs. Steve (Julie) Kaehr of Oshkosh, WI

4 Grandchildren – Andrew (wife, Claire) Kaehr; Timothy (wife, Whitney) Kaehr; David Kaehr; & Amy Kaehr

Sister – Mrs. Richard (Lorna) Rusk of Veedersburg

Brother – Daryl (wife, Rosemary) Townsend of Indianapolis

She was preceded by her parents, husband, twin brother – Dorwin Townsend, & brother – Loren Townsend

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday April 17, 2010 at the Oakwood Chapel (Oakwood Park) in Syracuse, IN with son in law, Rev. Steve Kaehr, of the First United Methodist Church in Oshkosh, WI officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the services at Oakwood. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery in Veedersburg, IN at a later date.
