Donnabelle Zimmer (Smith)

Donnabelle Zimmer passed away quietly on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in her home at Miller’s Merry Manor, Assisted Living in Warsaw, Indiana. She was 89 years old.
Donnabelle was born on July 13, 1927 in Warsaw. She was the only child of Samuel S. and Ethel L. (Godfrey) Smith and was a 1945 graduate of South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
On June 4, 1949, Donnabelle was married to Richard A. Zimmer. The two shared 55 years and started a family which includes three children – Bill, Janet and Debbie.
She volunteered for Kosciusko Community Hospital for more than forty years and had volunteered for the American Red Cross. She was a 4-H leader in the 1950s and 1960s. She loved animals, especially dogs. She also loved antiques, a passion which turned into a business and lasted more than fifty years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: son, Bill (Marcia) Zimmer of Winona Lake, Indiana and daughters, Janet Zimmer and Debbie Swihart, both of Warsaw; two granddaughters, Summer Zimmer of Winona Lake and Satin (Ryan) Lemon of Huntington, Indiana; and one great-granddaughter, Landree Lemon of Huntington.
Donnabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Zimmer on July 8, 2004.
Friends may join her family for a time of visitation from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in the Funeral Home. Chaplain Bob Jarboe of Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
