Donald Y. "Don" Impey

Donald Y. “Don” Impey, 86, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. He was born on August 26, 1935 in Geneva, IL to Charles Walter & Wanda (Young) Impey.

He graduated from Wheaton High School in Wheaton, IL & Drake University in Des Moines, IA and was a United States Air Force Reserves veteran. He was married on July 29, 1972 in England to Rowena Wakeford who survives. He was a salesman in Illinois for many years and former owner / operator of Wawasee Boat Company in Syracuse & Right Hand Man in Syracuse. He grew up in Illinois and lived in Atlanta, Nashville, and Cincinnati before moving to Syracuse in 1977.

He was a member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Syracuse

He is survived by:

Wife – Rowena Impey of Syracuse

3 Daughters – Bethel Cabilis of Portland, OR, Heather (John) Pressler of Syracuse, and Celia (Allan) Delagrange of Syracuse

Son – Jeffrey Impey of Goodman, WI

7 Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers – Jack & Richard Impey.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1413 N Long Dr., Syracuse, IN. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in the church with Pastor Jim Tormey officiating.
