Donald G. "Don" Walker

Donald G. “Don” Walker, 81, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 25, 1940 in Rockford, IL to Gordon E. & Loretta V. (Preston) Walker.

He graduated from East Rockford High School, received his BS Degree from Wisconsin State University in Whitewater, WI, received a Master’s Degree from Central Michigan in Industrial Engineering, and a 2nd Master’s Degree from Huntington College in Christian Education. He was a United States Army veteran and was married on October 17, 1998 in South Bend, IN to Rhonda L. Wolff who survives.

He was a retired recruiter of engineers. He was the owner / operator of 3 recruiting companies in South Bend, Lafayette, and Waterford and formerly worked at Chrysler, Bendix, and Uniroyal. He moved to the Syracuse area in 1998 from South Bend and formerly lived in Rochester Hills, MI, Dubuque, IA, St. Louis, MO, and Granger, IN.

He was a member of the Church of God & American Legion Post 253 both in North Webster. He was formerly a member of the American Legion in South Bend where he was a past commander.

He is survived by:

Wife – Rhonda Wolff of Syracuse

Daughter – Amy Elizabeth (Don) Sjolin of Ada, MI

Son – Dan Walker of Plantation, FL

3 Grandsons

Sister – Judy (Nurmi) Ingram of Tualatin, OR

He was preceded in death by his parents & brother – Darold Walker.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, In. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Memorial services will follow at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor David Cummings of the Nappanee Missionary Church officiating.
