Debra K. “Deb” Kemper, 70, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 4:51 p.m. on Friday, December 24, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on December 2, 1951 in Prestonsburg, KY to Woodrow & Anna Ray (Blair) Calhoun.
She graduated from Prestonsburg High School and got her L.P.N. degree from St. Joe Hospital Nursing School in Fort Wayne. She was married on June 1, 1988 in Sevierville, TN to Richard J. “Dick” Kemper who survives. She grew up in Prestonsburg and moved to the Warsaw / North Webster area in 1968. She retired from Home Health Care in Warsaw, worked as an L.P.N. at various local nursing homes, and at an ear, nose, and throat clinic in Warsaw.
She was a member of the North Webster Church of God, formerly attended the North Webster United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Nurses Association.
She is survived by:
Husband – Dick Kemper of Syracuse
2 Sons – Craig (Christi) Bevins of Warsaw and Kyle (Liz) Kemper of Goshen
4 Grand & 3 Gt. Grandchildren
Sister – Theresa Wilson of Warsaw
Sister-in-law – Tina Calhoun of Warsaw
Brother-in-law – Craig Kemper of North Webster
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters – Martha “Pete” Prater & Barbara “Marty” Stewart, and brother – James Calhoun.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Memorial services will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating.
