Debbie Bricker, a cherished mother, devoted daughter, and loving friend, peacefully passed away on March 26, 2026 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born on October 26, 1950 to Herbert and Gertrude (Ackley) Dye in Warsaw, IN. Debbie was a longtime resident of the Warsaw community and a proud graduate of Warsaw High School, class of 1969. She moved to Fort Wayne in 2019 to be closer to her family. She would marry Bruce Bricker on August 27, 1975.
Debbie dedicated much of her professional life to Zimmer, from which she retired. Her vibrant spirit was apparent in the many joys she embraced throughout her life. Debbie loved spending time on Tippecanoe Lake, where she found peace watching the graceful herons that frequented the waters. She also enjoyed vacations to Panama City Beach, Florida with her husband Bruce, creating cherished memories together.
Music brought Debbie great happiness—she enjoyed listening to The Beatles and the Oak Ridge Boys, and loved attending concerts, including many trips to see her favorite performer, Jimmy Buffett. She also found pleasure in reading and enjoying trips to the Blue Chip Casino.
Family was at the center of Debbie’s heart. She treasured every moment spent with her daughter Laurie (Kevin) Vachon and her beloved grandchildren, Lucas and Jordan Vachon. Her love for them was boundless, and their presence brought immense joy to her life.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James "Bruce" Bricker, and her siblings Herbert Dye Jr. and Jack Dye. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
