David A. Stump

October 25, 1956 — March 16, 2024

Ligonier

David A. Stump, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away in the comfort of his Ligonier home on March 16, 2024, at the age of 67. He was born on October 25, 1956, in Bluffton, IN, the only son of Jack and Ellen (Miller) Stump.

After graduating from Wawasee High School in 1978, he embarked on a career as a trucker for Kidd and Company Marshmallow Factory until its closure in 1996. On June 13, 2011, he married Nancy Featherly, and together, raised seven children. His warm personality and infectious humor endeared him to many, especially his beloved family.

David's commitment to serving others extended beyond his career as he served in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1975. He found joy in simple pleasures and had a passion for making people laugh. His interests included fishing, building model cars, collecting clocks, and watching fast action movies. David was a devout Christian who found solace in tuning into Joel Olsteen's sermons on Sunday nights.

David leaves behind his loving wife of 12 years, Nancy; their children, Coty Stump, Derek Stump, Shalena Brady, Jalena Cervantis, Tierra (Christian) Osbon, Christina Kiefer, and Walter Kiefer. He also cherished his 13 grandchildren who brought immense joy into his life. David is further survived by two sisters, Debbie (Kurt) Church and Diane (Jerry) Schuh. In his passing, he is reunited with his parents.

Titus Funeral Home of North Webster is entrusted with David’s care. A visitation will take place at the funeral home, 8056 E 500 N, North Webster, IN 46555, on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service. The burial will immediately follow at Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.

May David be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends, his dedication to service both in the military and everyday life, and the laughter he shared with all who crossed his path. His presence will be deeply missed but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he has touched.
