Danny Vernon Damron passed away at Kosciusko Community Hospital on October 11, 2022 at the age of 73.
Born on January 17, 1949 in Virgie, Kentucky, Danny was the son of the late Vester and Alfonta (Bentley) Damron. He attended Wise County Technical College where he became a certified Diesel Mechanic. He worked for the Indiana State Highway maintaining the Indiana roads until his retirement. Also known as “Dan the Karaoke Man”, Danny also DJed and performed karaoke shows for over 23 years.
Danny was married to Mary Ann Mullins in West Virginia on March 10, 1967. Their union was blessed with four children – Angela, Danny, Paul, and Matthew. Together with their family, Danny and Mary Ann celebrated their 55th anniversary.
Danny had a large heart and a kind soul. He often volunteered his time at local nursing homes where he would entertain the residents with his singing and karaoke and served coffee and donuts to local veterans once a month. He was also a member of the Warsaw Moose Lodge, Warsaw Eagles, Warsaw American Legion, and the Warsaw VFW where he served as chaplain for 11 years. He attended Warsaw Family Worship Center and was a man of great faith. Most of all, Danny adored his family and friends. He and Mary welcomed everyone to their home with a cup of coffee and a smile. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Danny will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Ann; four children, Angela (Mike) Stage, Danny (Ellen) Damron II, Paul (Brandy) Damron, and Matthew (Anna) Damron; 11 grandchildren: Jennifer, Elizabeth, Michael, Dalton, Dylon, Chloe, Sophie, Maya, Maci, Zoe, and Zander; great grandchildren, Leland, Matthew, Saira, Isabella, Jaxon, Mackenzie, Nickoli, and Nathaniel; sisters, Brenda Mullins and Rhonda (James) Mullins; and brother, Gary Damron. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends that were like family to him. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; great granddaughter, Amelia Rose Perry; and nephew David Justice.
Danny’s care is entrusted to Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Friends may join the family for visitation at the Warsaw Family Worship Center, 1250 Husky Trl, Warsaw, IN, United States, 46582, on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 10:00am until 1:00pm. Immediately following the visitation, Pastor William Whitaker will officiate Danny’s Life Celebration.
