Daniel G. “Dan” Laub, 73, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born on August 21, 1937 in Elwood, IN to George & Bertha H. (Noone) Laub.
He graduated in 1955 from Wendell Wilkie High School in Elwood, IN and attended St. Joe College in Rensselaer, IN & Marian College in Indianapolis. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. On March 4, 1961 in Elwood he married Sandra A. “Sandy” Beasley who survives.
He moved to Syracuse in 1974 from Elwood and retired in 2002 as co-owner/operator of Triangle Drafting Supply in Mishawaka, IN after 28 years. He was a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Parish in Syracuse.
He is survived by:
Wife – Sandy Laub of Syracuse
4 Daughters – Mrs. Jim (Vikki) Hall of Cicero, IN; Mrs. John (Angie) Ferguson of Elburn, IL; Marcy (H.B. Evans) Laub of Dulce, NM; & Daniele (Rick Straczek) Laub of Chicago, IL
4 Grandchildren – David, Leah, Kathleen, & Michael
Sister – Sue Courtney of Elwood
Brother – Jerry Laub of Elwood
He was preceded by his parents
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, S.R. 13 & 500N, North Webster, IN. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. F uneral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at St. Martin De Porres, 6941 E. Waco Drive, Syracuse, IN with Father Richard Hire officiating. Private family burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given to Syracuse Parks Department, 1013 N. Long Dr., Syracuse, IN, Huntington’s Disease Society of America, Indiana Chapter, P.O. Box 2101, Indianapolis, IN 46206, or Lake Area Community Band, P.O. Box 123, Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
