Dale Stidams, of Pierceton, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday,
October 7, 2022, at the age of 61.
Born on September 15, 1961, in Goshen, Indiana, Dale was the son of Delbert and Tilda Mae Stidams. He was a
1981 graduate of Wawasee High School. On May 10, 1987, he married his love, Sherry Sheets, spending 35
years together. Dale proudly served in the United States Army for seven years until his honorable discharge in
1997. He fought in the Gulf War during Operation Desert Shield where he received several medals and awards.
Dale was a very laid back and wonderful man. He loved his family more than anything, especially his children
and grandchildren. His family thought of him as a good sidekick and was also there for him. He also was an
avid fisherman and hunter, a true outdoorsman. Most of all, Dale enjoyed life to the fullest and shared that
positivity with others. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Along with his wife, Sherry, those who survive with his memories to cherish include his children, Jeremy
Gause, Joni (Matt) Smith, Janelle (Edwin) Bartels, and Joshua (Renae) Mix; 11 grandchildren; 2 great
grandchildren; and siblings, Joe (Mary) Stidams, George (Joanne) Stidams, Wayne (Tracy) Stidams, Pat
(Kevin) Koher, Billie Jo May, Rex “Buren” Powell, and Liza (Larry) Jones. He is further survived by many
nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Dale was preceded in passing by his parents, siblings,
Marie Powell, Carl Stidams, Don Stidams, Delbert Stidams Jr., Brad Stidams, Mark Stidams, Kellie Sicks,
James Irving Stidams, Louise Wakley, and Vannie Swinehart; and brother-in-law, Dan May.
