Pastor Dale E. Fisher, a faithful servant of the Lord, passed away on May 5, 2023, at Peabody Retirement Community. Dale was born on December 30th, 1930, in Ben Hur, Virginia, to his beloved parents, Lawrence and Maude Fisher.
After a short career as a minor league baseball player, Dale went on to pursue his education by attending Seminary where he laid the groundwork for a life dedicated to spreading the message of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He began a career that spanned more than 48 years as a Baptist Pastor. His passion, Dale devoted himself wholeheartedly to being there for those in need. Those who knew him will remember his kind spirit and willingness to help everyone he encountered.
Outside of his pastoral work, he was a sports enthusiast, especially baseball and tennis, and an avid reader considering himself a self-proclaimed Charles Dickens expert. Dale’s enthusiasm for all these interests was surpassed only by the joy he found in serving God and spending time with his family.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his children, Deborah (Martin) Turkis, Mark (Debbie) Fisher, Craig (Vicki) Fisher, Cathy Longacre, Brenda (Jeff) Bolyard; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly along with his sister, Virginia "Sue" Preston. Although he will be missed terribly by family as well as countless friends and church parishioners whose lives he touched throughout the years, they can take solace knowing that Dale has gone to be with his heavenly Father joining those who have passed before him: his parents; sisters, Jean Fisher and Joyce Clark; and brother, Wayne Fisher.
