Connie Phillips

Connie Irene Phillips, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in her home, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 72. She was born on August 30, 1953, the daughter of Donald and Ruth Byrer (Norman).

Connie’s roots were deeply anchored in Warsaw, where she attended Warsaw High School. Throughout her career, she contributed her skills and work ethic to several places including Zimmer Biomet, where she worked in packaging and shipping, as well as Creighton Brothers and JCPenney.

Beyond her professional life, Connie found joy in the simple things in life. She loved planting, tending to her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed listening to country music, especially Conway Twitty and Trace Adkins. Connie’s love for her animals spoke to her compassionate and generous nature, revealing a connection to the world around her.

On June 24, 2000, Connie married Sid Phillips, sharing many years of companionship and love until Sid’s passing. Her family remained the cornerstone of her life, providing both joy and strength. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Michael Wahlig, grandchildren, Krista (Matt) Anderson, Dennis (Ashley) Priser, and Ashley (Andrew) Bolinger; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Connie also leaves behind a large and loving circle of siblings: Louise Truex, Philip (Sharon) Byrer, Cecil (Patty) Byrer, Lewis Byrer, Vickie (Jay) Boggs, Joyce (Todd) Giles, Jim (Connie) Byrer, and Betty (Jim) Russell, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Her life was also touched by the memory of those who preceded her in death: her parents, her husband, her daughter, Jennifer McGlennen, her grandson, Jimmy McGlennen, her siblings, Doris Byrer, Ron Byrer, and Ruby Albertson, and her brother-in-law, Jim Truex. Their memories remain a precious part of her story.
