Clara E. Cogswell, 97, of North Webster, IN (formerly of Niles, MI) passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. She was born on September 8, 1923 in Knox, IN to Paul & Pauline (Guthrie) Corey.

She Attended Knox High School and was married on August 9, 1984 in Racine, WI to Jack Eugene Cogswell who preceded her on May 21, 1995. She retired from Miles Laboratory in Elkhart after 40 years. She grew up in Knox and lived in Niles, MI for 40 years before moving to North Webster 13 years ago.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Niles, MI for 40+ years.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Sharon (Bernard) Gebhart of Warren, IN

3 Grandchildren – Michael (Elaine) Cook of Syracuse, Amy (Tim) Stewart of Belfor, WA, and Becci (Michael) Mann of Elkhart

Sister – Betty Gotch of Fort Wayne, IN

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter – Norma Grooms.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. (Central Time) on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Eagle Creek Church, 280 N. 700E, Knox, IN. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545-3144.
