Christopher W. "Chris" Hughes

Christopher W. “Chris” Hughes, 50, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 3:13 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 29, 1971 in Fort Wayne, IN to Ted V. & Mary (Nichols) Hughes.

He grew up in Fort Wayne and graduated in 1989 from Northside High School in Fort Wayne. He was married on October 31, 2021 in Syracuse, IN to Erin A. Gorby who survives and lived in Florida before moving to Syracuse in 2020. He was employed for the City of Elkhart and formerly worked at for the City of Port Richey, FL, and City of New Port Richey, FL.

He is survived by:

Wife – Erin Hughes of Syracuse

4 Sons – Zac (Chelsea) Hughes, Christopher Hughes, and Brent Hughes all of Kendallville, and Mason Christianson of San Diego

Daughter – Alexis Shuler of Fort Wayne

Step Son – Sam Applegate of Port Richey, FL

4 Grandchildren

Mother – Mary Howard of Lansing, MI

Father – Ted Hughes of Syracuse

2 Sisters – Tracy (Frank) Weller of Lansing, MI & Jennifer Yates of Tucson, AZ

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. No public services will be held.

Preferred memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
