Charolette Lee Marcum, of Mentone, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital at the age of 57. Born on July 20, 1967, in Banner, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Vanis and Jeanette Marcum (Lewis). Charolette brought joy and warmth to the lives of those around her throughout her time on this earth.
A proud graduate of high school in 1985, Charolette went on to work as a housekeeper for several years, often sharing her cheerful spirit wherever she went. Her love for animals, especially frogs, reflected her caring nature. Charolette lived life to the fullest, always making room for laughter and affection within her family. Her bubbly and bright personality is what her family will miss the most.
She is survived by her sisters, Tammy (Brian) Rich of Claypool and Debbie (Woody) Shepherd of Rochester, as well as her brother, Vanis (Bessie) Marcum Jr. of Monterrey. She is further survived by her nephew, Eric Shepherd, her nieces, Carrie and Samantha Shepherd, and several great-nieces and nephews who were lucky enough to be embraced by her love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vanis and Jeanette Marcum (Lewis), who are surely welcoming her with open arms.
