Carolyn Ruth Sturgill

Carolyn R. Sturgill, 69, of North Webster, IN passed away at 4:06 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on November 14, 1949 in Keokee, VA to Noah & Clara Smith Vernon.

She grew up in Virginia, attended public schools there, and was married to Hubert Sturgill who preceded her on May 25, 2012. She was a homemaker and moved to the North Webster area in 2003 from Virginia.

She formerly attended the Pentecostal Church in Virginia.

She is survived by:

4 Sons – Robert (Cheryl) Sturgill of Elkhart, James (Carrie) Sturgill of Goshen, Noah Sturgill of North Webster, and Joe Sturgill of North Webster

6 Grandchildren

9 Sisters – Rachael (James) Tyner, Debbie Vernon, Tonja (Richard) Robinson, Joann Vernon, Teresa Vernon, Sue Vernon, Donna Vernon, Cora Lee Vernon, and Sandra Rogers all of Virginia

3 Brothers – Steve (Argie) Vernon, Ben Vernon, & Charles Vernon all of Virginia

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson – Christopher Sturgill.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 50N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
