Brett Denney

June 29, 1958 — October 30, 2022

North Webster

Brett Lee Denney, age 64 and a longtime resident of North Webster, passed away peacefully and accompanied by family on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Parkview Randallia Hospital after suffering a stroke.

Born in Goshen on June 29, 1958, Brett was the son of the late Alvin L. Denney and Kathleen (Small) Denney, who survives. He was a 1976 graduate of Warsaw Community High School where he relished in the adventures of growing up with his brothers’ unparalleled loyalty and surrounded by a most special kinship of family and adolescence friendships.

On February 15, 1992, Brett was married to Mary Rhodes. The pair shared thirty years together before his Sunday morning passing. They also shared five children and seven grandchildren.

Brett loved and was exceptionally proud his grandchildren and family. His passion was to support and provide for his family;  he was cooking Sunday breakfast, coaching his children's teams, doctoring up injuries, reassuring with a simple wink, smile and a pat on the back. The hobbies he shared were: fishing, boating, bowling, throwing darts, shooting pool, singing karaoke, and playing Texas Hold'em. Furthermore, Brett was a dedicated member of the Syracuse Eagles and Sons of the American Legion, Post 222.

In addition to his wife, Mary Denney of North Webster, those who survive with memories to cherish include five children: Keven Denney of Lafayette, Pam Carlin (Courtney Knisley) of Fort Wayne, Mike Denney serving an overseas tour (USMC) in Iwakuni, Japan, Jess Brown of Milford and Nick Denney (Alisha) of North Webster; seven grandchildren; three brothers: his twin Brian Denney (Jill) of Fort Wayne, Allen Denney (Nancy) of Warsaw, and Mark Denney (Tina) of Hillsdale, MI and mother, Kathleen Denney of Fort Wayne. A twin himself, Brett was elated to be welcoming a pair of twin grandsons to the family due this December.

Titus Funeral Homes is entrusted with Brett’s care through Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster. A Life Celebration is being held for Brett at North Webster American Legion, Post 253, 756 S Main St, North Webster on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 2 to 6 p.m.
