Silver Lake

Bobbie E. Whitmill passed away unexpectedly at his home in Silver Lake on July 23, 2023. He was 66 years old.

Born on July 13, 1957, in Noblesville, Indiana to Vernon and Myrna Whitmill, Bobbie had a gentle and kind soul that touched the hearts of everyone he met. He was known for his soft-spoken nature and his unwavering friendliness towards others. Bobbie was a true embodiment of compassion and was cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

For ten years, Bobbie served his community as a dedicated garbageman before transitioning to pursue his passion for cooking. As a chef, he dedicated himself to honing his culinary skills and worked in several restaurants throughout his career.

Beyond his professional life, Bobbie found solace in various hobbies and interests that nurtured his love for the outdoors and family connections. A talented fisherman, he spent countless hours casting lines into serene waters and rejoiced in the thrill of the catch. His green thumb extended to both his garden and yard where he poured his heart into cultivating beautiful plants and flowers.

One of Bobbie's most endearing pursuits was looking after a group of chickens which affectionately became known as "Bobbie’s Chicks". He took great pleasure in providing them with tender care while deriving joy from their delightful presence.

An avid kite enthusiast, Bobbie delighted not only in collecting kites but also creating colorful masterpieces that soared high above the ground with grace and elegance. Most importantly, Bobbie was a family man who treasured his loved ones deeply.

Bobbie is survived by his dear brother Dean (Suzann Bassel), sister Donna (Lewis) Barron, granddaughter Stormie (Chris) Mayo, and grandson Harley Robertson. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Jayden River and Micela. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tomica Robertson; sister, Melody; and brother, Jason.
