Betty J. Smith, 94, of Goshen, IN (formerly of Milford, IN) passed away at 3:07 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Goshen Hospital. She was born on June 28, 1927 in Marion, IN to Orville C. & Emma Roberta (Jones) Nealis.

She graduated from Marion High School and attended Marion Business College. She was married on February 1, 1947 in Parker City, IN to Richard D. “Dick” Smith who preceded her on October 10, 1993. She was formerly employed at Mail Journal / The Papers in Milford for 40 years as an accounts payable manager. She grew up in Marion and lived most of her life in Milford before moving to Goshen in 1999.

She was a member of Bethany Church of the Brethren and attended Evergreen Church at Greencroft.

She is survived by:

Son- Daniel (Pamela) Smith of Gunnison, CO

5 Grand, 10 Gt. Grand, and 5 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren

Sister – Coralee (James) Morgan of Kokomo, IN

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son- Ronald Smith.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Milford Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
