Benjamin F. "Ben" Janacek, 75, of Leesburg died at 6:14 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born on March 22, 1934 in Liberty, TX to Henry A. and Agnes (Pratka) Janacek.

He grew up in Liberty, TX and attended public school there. He was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict. He was married on August 5, 1956, in Waco, TX to Monica A. Torpy who preceded him on April 9, 2006. In 1981 he moved to the Leesburg / North Webster area from Waco, TX.

He retired from Warsaw Community Schools where he worked in the transportation department for 20 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Warsaw, American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, and a former member of the Barbee Conservation Club.

He is survived by:
Son - Michael (wife Laurena) Janacek of Leesburg
2 granddaughters & 3 Gt. Grandchildren;
Brother - Wilfred (wife, Geri) Janacek of Richmond, TX.

He was preceded by his parents, his wife, 1 daughter - Sharol Fetters, 1 brother - Elmer Janacek, and 1 sister - Bernice Svaboda.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial bequests may be given to Goshen General Hospital Hospice, 200 High Park Ave., Goshen, IN 46526.
