Barbara A. "Barb" Bainter

Barbara Arlene Bainter, 77, of Bristol passed away peacefully Friday, Jan 21, 2022, at Goshen Hospital. She was born Nov. 26, 1944, to Harry and Miriam (Berkey) Bainter.

Survivors include a sister, Harriet Kruse, of Bristol; brothers, Clement "Bud" Bainter, of Bristol and Lyle (Patricia) Bainter, of Goshen; nephews, Steve and Gary Kruse, Richard (Sam), Timothy (Mary), Jeffrey (Anna), Mark (Tamara), and Brian Bainter and Dave Schelle; nieces, Janet (Gary) Hershberger and Sara (Rod) Hooley.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law Owen Kruse, sister-in-law JoAnn Bainter and niece Michelle Schelle.

In 1963 she graduated from Jefferson Township High School. She served on the alumni board for many years. Barbara retired after many years at Markley Enterprises in Elkhart. She spent the last several years driving Amish part-time.

A longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Bristol, she was active in many church activities and functions. Barbara's true passion, though, was record-keeping for both the Bainter and Berkey family genealogy.

She chose to be a skin donor after which she will be cremated at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. A public celebration of life at Zion will be held at a later date.
