Barbara Butcher

Barbara L. (Bobbie) Butcher, 76, of Leesburg, IN died at 4:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on June 27, 1931 in Marion, IN to Worth E. & Mildred C. (Scott) Moon.

She graduated in 1949 from Marion High School in Marion, IN. She attended Houghton College in Houghton, NY for 1 year and then graduated in 1953 from Maumee Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, OH. She was married on February 18, 1956 in Marion, IN to Clinton I. Butcher who survives. She moved to the Leesburg/North Webster area in June 1973 from Arlington Heights, IL.

She was a homemaker, former registered nurse for Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie & Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw. She retired as the executive assistant for Central Textile Company, Inc. in Leesburg after 20+ years.

She was a member of the Vineyard Community Church in Syracuse & the Wawasee Camp of the Gideon's International Auxiliary. She taught Bible Study Fellowship in Goshen for many years and formerly attended the North Webster Church of God.

She is survived by:

1 Daughter - Karen Allen of Cicero, IN
2 Sons - Kevin (wife,Jean) Butcher of Colorado Springs, CO & Kent (wife, Liana) Butcher of Syracuse
9 Grand Children
1 Sister - Beverly Baker of Marion

She was preceded by her parents and 1 brother - Phil Moon

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev. John Heavilin, retired Wesleyan minister officiating. Burial will follow in the North Webster Cemetery (Mock Addition).

Memorial bequests may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 or Wawasee Camp of the Gideon's International, P.O. Box 101, Syracuse, IN.
