Alice "Sylvia" Brown, 90, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 5:35 AM in Windsor of Ocala, Ocala, Florida.

Sylvia was born August 12, 1921 in Johnson County, Kentucky to James Harrison and Minta (Bays) Tackett. On September 20, 1943, also in Kentucky, she became the wife of Elois F. Brown.

Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, Indiana she was employed by Kimball Glass for 40 years retiring in 1986 in the quality control department. Sylvia belonged to the Owens-Illinois Employees Club and had been Kosciusko Community Hospital Auxiliary volunteer.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Lynn and James Feldman and son and daughter-in-law: Elois "Buck" and Joyce Brown all of Ocala, Florida. Also surviving is a sister: Bobbi Watkins, Bowling Green, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Elois F. Brown, Sylvia's husband of 54 years, passed away October 25, 1997. Also preceding her death were 2 sisters: Addie Frazier and Irene LeMaster and a brother: Glenn Tackett.

A graveside service will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11 AM in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Pastor Gary Boschain of First Christian Church, Warsaw, will officiate. The family has asked that memorial contributions in Sylvia's memory be given to the American Cancer Society, 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 or to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, PO Box 1196, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1196.
