Alan R. Schlagenhauf

Alan R. Schlagenhauf, 57, of Leesburg, IN lost his battle to cancer at 11:42 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2019 at his home. He was born on June 13, 1962 in Decatur, IN to Phillip Bruce & E. Naoma (Rutledge) Schlagenhauf.

He attended Wawasee High School in Syracuse, graduated from South Adams High School in Berne, and attended Huntington College in Huntington, IN. He was married on January 22, 1983 in Huntington, IN to Elizabeth A. “Lisa” Landon who survives and moved to North Webster area from Huntington, IN. He was formerly employed at Chore Time Brock in Milford for 17 years, Ron Shortt Pest Control in Leesburg, and was the former owner / operator of Alan’s Bait and Tackle in North Webster.

He was an avid softball player, enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and was always the life of the party. He was a Syracuse Little League coach and loved spending time with his grandsons which were the light of his life.

Wife – Lisa Schlagenhauf of Leesburg

Daughter – Kylee (Kenny) Eaton of Syracuse

2 Grandsons – Braxton & Kolton

Mother – Naoma Schlagenhauf of Leesburg

2 Sisters – Fay (Dan) Schwartz of Middlebury and Dianne (John) Givens of Madison, WI

2 Brothers – Phillip Mark (Linda) Schlagenhauf of Decatur, AL and Doug Edgar of Wren, OH

He was preceded in death by his father and son – Joshua Alan Schlagenhauf.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Justin Landon minister at the Community Life Center Church in Warsaw officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN.
