Robert Lyle “Bob” Otermat won a heroic battle with cancer, having been received into the arms of his Savior while hearing the long-awaited words “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Bob was born to Orvil and Ila Otermat in Fremont, OH having graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1963. Bob was a true patriot who loved his country. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Manatee. A veteran of the Viet Nam war, Bob was honorably discharged from the US naval station in Boston, Massachusetts on February 14, 1967.

Bob was an over-the-road truck driver for 25 years. He loved working with wood, his favorite project being the US flags he made from pallet wood. He was an avid fisherman, too. His black lab, Kasi was his faithful companion and service dog.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Ila and father, Orvil as well as by nephew, Kyle. He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Otermat of Warsaw; brother, Larry (wife, Jinny) Otermat of Ashland, OH and his nieces, Megan and Gretchen Otermat (Milad) of Chicago, Ill.

Private family visitation will be held at Titus Funeral Home. A graveside service has been organized for family and friends on Saturday, April 7th at 11 a.m. in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted in reverence of Bob’s naval service.
