Obituary for Loren Bailey

Loren Bailey
Loren Edwin Bailey, 91, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, August 25th, 2018, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, IN.
He was born April 8, 1927 in Tamaroa, Illinois, to the late Albert and Margaret (McIntyre) Bailey.
He enlisted on March 19, 1945 into the United States Navy and served as Seaman First Class in World War II. He received a Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, and also an Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. On July 24, 1946 he received an Honorable Discharge from the Great Lakes Naval Station, Illinois.
On December 20, 1948, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Patsy J. Hampsey, in Chicago, Illinois after walking in snow up to their knees for two blocks to the pastor’s home to be wed.
One of his greatest joys was becoming a father to four children: Larry Gene, Pamela Mae, Sheree Kay, and Donna Ruth. He was thrilled with his beloved children whom he adored.
His children greatly appreciated all of the many sacrifices he made for them and will forever be indebted to him. It has been their honor and privilege to help care for him in his later years.
One of his greatest talents was writing poems and sharing his love for Jesus to many. Songs of praise were always being sung when you were around him. He could sing for hours and loved traditional hymns.
Loren will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but they are comforted in knowing that he is at home with his beloved Lord and Savior Jesus.
Surviving are his daughters, Pamela (husband, Mike) Edens, Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Donna (husband, Reverend John) Marsten, Foley, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Melinda Bailey, New Palestine, Indiana; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Bailey; a son, Larry Bailey, a daughter, Sheree Konkle; a grandson, Daniel Konkle; and many brothers and sisters, along with his mother and father, Albert and Margaret Bailey.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, with visitation for thirty minutes prior. Reverend Kevin Joyce and Pastor Denny Bollenbacher will be officiating. Private burial will take place on Wednesday, August 29th in Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Military honors at the funeral home will be performed by members of American Legion Post 49, VFW Post 1126, and the United States Navy.
