Obituary for Larry Williamson

On October 2, 2018 at 6:45 p.m., God gained an angel when he called home Larry Devon Williamson. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Larry was 76 years old.

Larry was born on December 12, 1941 to George and Doris (Messmore) Williamson in Kosciusko County, IN. He attended Pierceton School, were he graduated in 1961. He loved farming and helped his father farm for many years. In March 1960, he began dating his future wife, Marilyn Eddingfield. On December 28, 1963 they were married. After saving their money, they bought a farm in 1969, where they milked Holstein cows, raised pigs and planted crops. Larry also worked at Dalton Foundries for 32 years, while continuing to farm. He retired from Dalton Foundries in 2011 but continued to bale hay and raise Angus cows.

Larry was a hardworking, caring, generous, lovable man who loved his family, never knew a stranger and helped anyone in need. He was an active member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, where he regularly made noodles to support church ministries.

Larry leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Williamson. He is also survived by three children of whom he was very proud: Linda and husband, Doug Kroll of South Bend, IN; Scott and wife, Jenna Williamson of Leesburg, IN; and Kevin and wife, Tabitha Williamson of Warsaw, IN. Larry is also survived by seven wonderful grandchildren, whom he adored: Peyton Guipe, Ella Williamson, Evan Kroll, Megan Kroll, Drew Williamson, Aiden Williamson and Mya Williamson. Additionally, he is survived by a brother, Richard Williamson of Warsaw, IN and a sister Barbara Campbell and her husband, Roy of Boise, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Phyllis Miller; and a brother, Jerry Allen Williamson.

The family will welcome friends at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street in Warsaw, on Sunday, October 7th from 1 to 5 p.m. On Monday at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home, Pastor Holly White of Morris Chapel UMC will officiate Larry’s funeral service. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.

Memorial Gifts may be given to Morris Chapel UMC. Gifts by mail c/o Bill Trump, 5706 North 1st Street, Warsaw, IN 46582. Online condolences may be left through Larry’s obituary at www.TitusFuneralHome.com
