She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and previously a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

Those who survive with memories to cherish include three sons: Mike (Carol) Svinarich of Albuquerque, NM, Robert Svinarich of Warsaw and Tom (Beth) Svinarich of Denver, CO; six grandchildren: John Michael Svinarich, Logan Svinarich, Amy Svinarich, Beth Anderson, Kate Svinarich and Cami Sceiford and four great-grandchildren: Noah, Emma, Jeremy and Madison. My condolences to Katie's family. I am sorry I could not attend the funeral. I worked with Katie at KCH back in the early 1980's. She always had a giving heart. When she was at Mason's I was blessed to bring her Communion. She always remembered how to say the Our Father before giving her Communion. Her Sacred Heart artwork in her room was beautiful and it gave her pleasant memories.
God Bless Katie!

Katie... So many, many things I could say about this wonderful example , and mentor. She was always, steady, unshakeable, reliable, caring, giving, hardworking... the list could go on. I worked at KCH with Katie since 1992 until she retired. She was the house supervisor, and was always available if needed. I can see her walking through the halls , even now. She was one of a kind, and I was SO BLESSED to have worked with her. My deepest sympathy to her family. Julie Runnells, RN

What a fierce beautiful women. If she believed in something or someone you knew it. She not only cared for the patients but also cared for the nurses and staff. Those if us who worked with her over the years were truly blessed. Kerry Bartley, FNP-BC

I worked with Katie for so many years. She was an awesome nurse and a wonderful nursing supervisor. She was an extremely hard worker. When she asked you to help, she was always right there helping too. She was fun and carried a smile that lite up the room. Her family was very important to her. She was also a huge ND fan. I loved working with and along side her. She was a wealth of information. I will never forget her pumpkin rolls during the holidays. Was so glad she worked as long as she did. She was my friend and a joy to be around. God bless this true and faithful servant. Thank you to the family for sharing her for so many years. May your many memories carry on her legacy. She was loved. Paula Calhoun RN
